The Mt.Kilimanjaro climb must be the ultimate experience.If you are reasonably fit and healthy,the opportunity of a lifetime awaits you.Machame route is probably the most beautiful route.
This route is more suited to slightly adventurous hiker and rewarding with scenic splendor unlike most other routes. Day 1:Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport.Meet and transfer to Kia Lodge for overnight on b&b. Day 2:After breakfast and briefing drive to Machame gate (1490m).Walk through rain forest and muddy route to arrive at Machame Camp (2980m) for dinner and overnight. Day 3:Walk for 6 hours in the forest,moorland zone an rocky ridges to arrive at Shira Camp (3840m) for dinner and overnight. Day 4:From Shira Camp you climb to Lava Tower at (4630m).This will take 7 hours through semi desert and rocky landscape.By climbing a little higher (by 680m) from Barancco to Lava Tower will assist your acclimatization.Dinner and overnight at Barranco Camp at (3950m).Enjoy excellent sunset. Day 5:After breakfast walk through valleys and ridges and onto Barafu Camp (4550m) for dinner and rest. Day 6:Around midnight it's time to make final attempt to the summit.Walk to Stella Point (5685) on the rim,probably the most challenging section.Keep on pushing up for 2 hours to arrive at Uhuru Peak/summit (5895m) and after short rest return to Barafu Camp where you rest again before heading further down to Mweka Camp at (3100m) for dinner and overnight. Day 7:An easy descent to Mweka Gate (1980m) where you part with your climbing team and board awaiting vehicle for an hours drive to Kia Lodge for long overdue hot shower,dinner and overnight. Day 8:After breakfast and day rest transfer to airport nearby for onward flight.
