Mt. KenyaMount Kenya is Africa's second highest mountain. Wildlife is abundant here with elephant, rhino, herds of buffalo and smaller woodland creatures in the forests. In the moorlands you can find duiker and buffalo and if you are very lucky you will see elephant and leopard. As you take the trail up, you pass deep gorges and make your way through dense montane forest inhabited with blue monkeys, giant forest hogs and black and white colobus monkeys. Once out of the forest the scenery opens up to moorland, giant heather and tall columns of lobelia and groundsel where the rock hyrax will be easily found. It gets colder as you ascend and the high peaks of the mountain are ringed with small glacial moraines.
