"It is impossible to give a fair description of the Crater, for there is nothing with which to compare it. It is one of the Wonders of the World"
Prof. Bernard Grizimek.
Ngorongoro CraterIf you have only one day in your life to visit an African game park, Ngorongoro Crater is where it should be spent. The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world spanning 260sq kms with the crater floor 600m below it's rim. It is a self contained world which encompasses savannah grassland, soda and freshwater lakes and the Lerai forest. It is home to thousands of wildlife including elephant, cape buffalo, jackal, hyena, zebra, wilderbeast, gazelle, lion, leopard, hippo and cheetah, as well as one of the only places in the world you will find the rare black rhino. Not only will you see the "big" animals, but the birdlife is truly amazing.
